AI is the critical driving force for the new scientific revolution and industrial innovation. It is assumed as the ‘super ventilation’ duct for the next generation of scientific and technological revolution.
As the AI industry gradually became the key issue for competitions in the world, there has been a sudden increase in the number of companies involved in the field, and also in the demands for AI talents. At present, the number and quality of manpower in the fields of AI fail to meet the requirements for the industrial development, and also there is a significant shortage of training manpower. Training high-quality manpower for AI that can qualify for global perspectives, advanced knowledge and problem-solving skills is very critical in terms of economic development, social advancement and international politics and economic development, and it can also have impacts in a very wide scope.
Therefore, the program aims to train global AI manpower that can solve problems in the fields.
To train AI manpower and improve the competitiveness of the AI industry in Asia, the CAMPUS Asia Plus framework, including the four universities, such as Pukyong University(PKNU) of Korea, Yamanashi University(UY) of Japan, Hangzhou University(HDU) of China, and Perlis University of Malaysia(UniMAP) all have joined together. They will share each others‘ advantages and integrate resources in order to operate multi major programs, overseas study programs, short-term culture experience programs, workshops, internships, shared online programs and summer schools. Through this project, they will educate a minimum of 70 students with multiple majors within 5 years.
